The J7 6x4 tractor has increased cross-country ability and load capacity, the maximum curb weight is 25 tons (road trains - 49 tons). The engine is developed by FAW, working in tandem with the ZF "Trakson" robotic automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 550 hp and 2300 Nm of torque. Other FAW J7 units are manufactured by famous and well-known brands on the Russian market: Sachs, TRW, Knorr-Bremse, Bosch, Wabco.
